ACHIEVEMENTS
I’m a Doer
I’m a high-energy person, driven by the satisfaction of checking tasks off my list. Over the first two-and-a-half decades of my career, this has allowed me to accomplish a lot. The highlights below track my professional development—first, towards business success, then community-building, and now, to a tech-forward vision for climate and social impact.

Black Women Talk Tech report
In partnership with NYSERDA, I sponsored and co-authored this report highlighting the investment opportunity in an emerging wave of tech companies founded by Black women. (I also co-authored “Gender Lens Investing: A Primer for College and University Endowments” with the International Endowments Network.
2019
Ecosystem Builder Award
Upstate Venture Connect recognized my years of community building with the David M. Ahlers Master Ecosystem Builder Award. Other awards I’ve been honored to receive include the Community Catalyst Nomination from Upstate Venture Connect, the Signs of Sustainability Award from Sustainable Tompkins, the B Corp Supply Chain Award, and the New Star Synergy Award from NYSAE.
Appointment to NY Climate Action Council
As a result of my experience in climate leadership and technology, I was appointed by Empire State Development CEO, Eric Gertler, to this board, which is responsible for implementing effective climate policy under New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).
$1.25 Million Deployed with ECMC Foundation

Advising on Innovation and Investing at NYSERDA
The NY State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a public-benefit corporation that promotes renewable energy and energy efficiency. I began serving as an Innovation Advisor to NYSERDA in 2018 and helped establish its Investment Advisory Board the following year.
2017
Entrepreneur in Residence at Cornell University
As an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Center for Regional Economic Advancement at Cornell, I provide mentorship and instruction for startups in clean energy, food and agriculture, and deep tech.
Investing in Women
Recognizing the lack of women in technology investing and leadership, I co-founded an early-stage venture capital investment fund, Chloe Capital, to bring more diversity to the table.
Co-founding Women 2.0
I joined with other influential women in the industry, including Shaherose Charania and Kate Brodock, to re-launch Women 2.0, the leading media brand for women in tech. I served as COO and board director for the first three years.
Judging Tech Innovation
Over the years, I’ve participated as a judge or mentor in dozens of innovation and business challenges. This year was particularly exciting, judging climate tech innovators at NYSERDA’s 76West Clean Energy Competition and Student Startup Madness at South by Southwest.
2016
PollQ Launch
Seeing a lack of effective online polling during the 2016 election cycle, I co-founded the software startup PollQ along with Stephen Shaffer and Chirag Desai.
Singlebrook Acquisition
After a decade at the helm of Singlebrook, I oversaw the acquisition of our largest division, ending the first act of my career and freeing time for more purpose-driven work in equity and climate technology.
Guest Lecture at Columbia University
I was invited to speak at Columbia University’s business school about social impact businesses and benefit corporations. I’ve also been a guest lecturer at Cornell University’s Kessler Fellowship, Dyson School & Social Entrepreneurship Program, Barnard College of Columbia University, and the National Science Foundation.

CSRWire is a leading news source for corporate social responsibility (CSR). Other boards on which I’ve served include: Impact Makers, BAX, ConvergeUS, StartFast Code, NY Society of Association Executives, Local First Ithaca, Barnard & Columbia Club of CNY, and Ithaca Venture Community.
2012
Benefit Corporations Policy Work for Benefit Corporations
I was given the B Corp Policy Champion Award for advocacy work that helped pass benefit corporation legislation in New York State. The legislation recognizes the legitimacy of this new corporate structure, allowing businesses to have a triple bottom line that balances community and environmental impact alongside profit.
2009
Mentoring Other Founders
Through organizations like Launch NY, NEXUS-NY, StartFast and many others, I discovered my passion for sharing what I learned about running a tech business. I developed a routine of at least one mentoring call a day, which has allowed me to work with literally hundreds of aspiring founders to date.
2006
My Breakthrough: First Tech Company
Following a move to Ithaca, New York, I co-founded Singlebrook. As CEO, I led the growth of the company for the next decade. Along the way we became the first Certified B Corporation in New York and served Fortune 500 clients, Ivy League universities, startups and nonprofits like the Sierra Club and the Environmental Defense Fund.
2002
Someday Productions
After a brief period in film production, I launched a business producing corporate events and conferences in New York City during the height of the dot-com boom.
2000
Diverse Business Experience
I was fortunate to spend three years working under the inventors, Marc and Francine Segan, learning about product licensing, development, manufacturing and marketing. During this decade after graduation, I also worked jobs in finance, event production, advertising and insurance.

Within two years of graduating I co-founded Night & Day Productions, a theater and publishing company, with Megan Kelly. Plus, I began to glimpse creative business opportunities in other industries.
